| As avian influenza ("bird flu") reaches the Mediterranean region.and with it, fears that the disease could infect humans.the region.s ability to deal with a human influenza pandemic climbs higher on the list of global priorities. Over the last three years, the Middle East Consortium on Infectious Disease Surveillance (MECIDS) has built an infrastructure in the region to help nations cooperate in managing disease outbreaks and now it has taken on Avian Influenza. more |
